Our mission is to provide high quality medicine and surgery to all patients along with supplying information to pet owners that will actively involve them in decisions that affect their pet. Diagnostics are emphasized in order to offer the best treatment options available.
John and Heidi met in their first year at the UW Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, they moved to New England, working in separate multi-doctor animal hospitals for a few years before realizing that they missed Wisconsin. After moving to Oconomowoc and starting a family, they eventually recognized that they needed to open their own hospital in order to pursue their goal of offering quality veterinary care to pets while educating and involving pet owners in decision-making about their pets’ health. This went hand in hand with building a kind and professional team to work with in delivering that care. They purchased property on Brown St. in 1997 and built Hallett Veterinary Hospital, opening in June of 1998 with two exam rooms. Cyndi Valerio joined the HVH team as a veterinary technician shortly after the hospital opened. Dr. Michael Fagan joined HVH in 2001. As pets and their people continued to be front and center, they added on to the original building, doubling the size of the hospital and increasing to five exam rooms. Dr. Mike became a partner in 2005, and Cyndi became hospital administrator and a partner in 2017. After working as associate veterinarians for several years, Dr. Rachel Oberholtzer and Dr. Ann Schneider became partners in 2022. The Hallett team is proud to continue their tradition of quality veterinary care within the community and thankful for the community that has partnered with us through the years.
